The first generating unit of Jinchuan Hydropower Station in the Dadu River Basin has officially been connected to the power grid. Recently, a number of hydropower stations including Zhentouba Phase II and Shaping Phase I in the basin have been put into grid-connected operation, and the river closure of Laoyingyan Phase II Hydropower Station has been successfully completed, further strengthening the clean energy supply system in southwest China.
Located in Jinchuan County and Barkam City, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Jinchuan Hydropower Station has a total installed capacity of 860,000 kilowatts, equipped with four Francis turbine-generator units each with a capacity of 215,000 kilowatts, with an annual power output of about 3.5 billion kilowatt-hours. As a key project under Sichuan’s 14th Five-Year Energy Development Plan, it plays a vital role in optimizing the regional power supply structure and boosting coordinated economic, social and ecological development.
