The 100MW tower-type solar thermal power station project in Redstone, South Africa, has officially entered the commercial operation stage

The 100MW tower-type solar thermal power station project in Redstone, South Africa, has obtained the commercial operation certificate issued by the South African National Grid Company, marking the official entry of the project into the commercial operation stage.

This project is the first tower-type molten salt solar thermal power station in sub-Saharan Africa and also the largest investment project in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. It adopts advanced tower-type molten salt energy storage technology and installs 41,260 heliostats on site. After completion, it will provide 785.8 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity to the South African power grid annually, meeting the electricity needs of about 200,000 South African households. Significantly reducing reliance on traditional fossil energy and lowering local carbon emissions are of great strategic significance for South Africa's energy transition.
