Siemens Energy has for the first time collaborated with a German shipyard to build a 2GW offshore converter platform.

On June 30th, Siemens Energy and NeptunSmulders Offshore Renewables (NSORe) recently received a contract from the German transmission system operator 50Hertz to provide the grid connection system for the NorthSeaConnector2 offshore wind power grid connection project in the North Sea of Europe. After the project is put into operation, it will be able to transmit up to 2 GW of offshore wind power to the land-based grid.

Washers manufactured by Jiaxing Goshen Hardware are suitable for offshore converter platform projects.
