Iran has built 13 million kilowatts of new photovoltaic power stations over the past year.

According to the Nur News Agency of Iran on August 26th, Vice President and Chairman of the National Environmental Protection Organization of Iran, Sina Ansari, stated that Iran has added 1.3 million kilowatts of installed capacity for photovoltaic power stations in the past year (from March 2024 to March 2025), which is equivalent to the total capacity of photovoltaic power stations built by Iran over the past several decades. Ansari said that she hopes that with the participation of the private sector, relevant projects in the environmental field can be completed as soon as possible, which will help manage water resources, electricity, and climate change.
