In 2023, renewable energy will account for more than 50% of Germany's electricity generation

On January 2, Germany's energy regulator, the Federal Network Administration, said that more than half of the country's electricity will be generated from renewable sources such as wind, water, solar and biomass by 2023. According to data from the Federal Network Administration, the proportion of renewable energy generation in Germany in 2023 will be 56%. That compares with 47.4 percent in 2022.
