On April 15 local time, the commencement ceremony of the Serbia Vetro 300 MW Wind Power Project, invested and controlled by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), was solemnly held in Pančevo, Serbia. This marks the official start of construction for the new energy project with the largest designed installed capacity in Serbia to date.

As POWERCHINA’s first energy investment project in Serbia, the project is fully funded by the company. It will install 48 sets of domestically manufactured wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 300 megawatts, and is expected to generate approximately 774 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. Upon completion, the project will not only become Serbia’s largest wind farm, but also significantly enhance the security and stability of its energy supply, optimize its energy mix, and strongly advance the local green and low-carbon transition.

At the commencement ceremony, representatives of the investor and partners jointly emphasized that the Vetro Wind Power Project is an important achievement of the China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era, and is highly aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative and global carbon reduction goals. The successful development of the project will deepen the friendship between China and Serbia, serving as a model for the "whole industrial chain going global" featuring Chinese management, technologies and equipment. The general contractor stated that all parties will cooperate closely to build the project into a benchmark project for new energy in Central and Eastern Europe, further enhancing the international reputation of "POWERCHINA" and "Made in China".
