The Australian government has released its first national Renewable Energy Priority List, which includes an additional 16GW of renewable power generation and 6GW of storage. The list was developed through a partnership between the Federal Government and its states and territories to support the regulatory planning and environmental approval processes for priority renewable energy projects identified across Australia. Australia's first priority list identifies 56 priority projects across the country, including 24 transmission projects and 32 generation and storage projects. Of these 32 power generation and storage projects, seven use solar PV, with a total capacity of 4,130MW. Many of these projects are using co-located battery energy storage systems to optimize power plants.
