What is the effect of surface treatment on bolt tightening
The influence of friction coefficient on friction consumption of bolt head, friction consumption of thread and work consumption of preload in tightening process is theoretically analyzed. The relationship between friction coefficient and torque-preload of threaded fasteners with different surface treatments is experimentally analyzed.
The effects of the thickness of galvanizing layer and different chromate treatments on the friction coefficient and torque coefficient were obtained, and it was found that reducing the friction coefficient could effectively increase the axial tension of bolts, which is of great significance for improving the service efficiency of bolts.
