On February 3, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that Italy will invest in Enel (Italian State electricity company) to build a new photovoltaic plant in Sicily to help it increase production capacity, which is planned to become the main production base of solar panels in Europe. Italy's NRRP program will provide 90 million euros ($97 million) in funding for the plant. As previously reported, Enel announced in November 2022 that it would operate the plant through the company's 3Sun USA company, with an initial capacity expected to be 3GW.

9, Fred. Olsen 1848 Deployment of floating photovoltaic pilot projects in Norway

Norwegian green energy provider Fred. Olsen 1848 has successfully deployed a 124-kilowatt offshore floating PV pilot project. The 50 x 50 meter floating array is located in Rieser, Norway, and will be officially operational in the spring. The pilot project will serve as a testing ground for Fred. Olsen 1848 to perfect its floating solar energy solution, Brizo.
